DONATIONS June 2022

We are excited to announce that the MA Historical Commission has awarded an emergency grant to the Town of Otis for $100,000 to be used for the renovation of St Paul's.

This brings the total money raised to $465,000 towards our goal of $750,000.

We just got word that - The Center Of Otis has been designated as The Otis Center Historic District and placed on The National Register Of Historic Places

DONATIONS December 2021

John G Martin Foundation has awarded Otis Preservation Trust a $50,000 grant.

The John G Martin Foundation has also pledged an additional $50,000 for 2022. These grants will be used for the renovation of St Paul’s.

The Berkshire Bank has awarded Otis Preservation Trust $25,000 grant.

This grant will be used for the renovation of St Paul's.

ANNOUNCEMENT December 2021

The Otis Historical Commission is proud to announce that the Massachusetts Historical Commission approved our Nomination of the Otis Center Historical District.

This new Historic District has now been submitted to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. St Paul's Church is within this district so historic designation is automatically conferred. This will go a long way towards obtaining funding. A video of the MA Historic Commission meeting along with photos will soon be available on this website. Thanks to all those who sent letters in support of this nomination.

A sad annoucement from the Otis Historical Commission

On Friday October 22nd a light went out for OPT and the Ots Historical Commission. Our dear friend, Sonia Morrison, passed away suddenly. Sonia was the heart, soul, and strength behind all our efforts to restore and preserve Otis’ historic properties. She believed in Otis and we will strive to honor her memory. May she Rest In Peace

Berkshire Magazine has recognized what those in Otis already know. Tom Ragusa is one of the Berkshire 25. He was nominated for his dedication and successful decade + to the tracking of the Knox Trail.
